Backwater at Tranquille
This location is west of the city of Kamloops, on the north side of the Thompson River. Tranquille is the name of a nearby large lake, a creek that flows into it, and the name of a small nearby grouping of buildings.Water from the nearby lake and river was still high when I made this watercolor painting, my view a bit off the beaten path. The area in the foreground is a refuge for all kinds of water fowl. I loved the entirety of this viewpoint. In the far distance can be seen under cloud cover, the iconic Mt. Peter and Mt. Paul that brood over the city's center.
