Isobel Lake Mist
A few years before my sister passed away, we went up into the Lac du Bois grasslands northwest of Kamloops on an early August morning after evening rains. Conditions were such that there was mist everywhere. Being very interested in photography, she wanted to shoot some pictures of the area. The mists seemed to hang everywhere over the grasslands, ponds, and depressions. The morning was almost magical just prior to sunrise, a feast of the senses. We walked part of the interpretive trail around Isobel Lake. Mist was rising just as the sun was breaking through. This painting is one of the rare times I have done two images from the same view; the first was smaller and darker in comparison the second large image painted.
