The South Thompson River at Kamloops
Despite being not more than 10 minutes from busy downtown Kamloops, one would never know that based on this view, yet it contains several of the iconic physical features of the area. It was a beautiful Fall afternoon when I first saw this view and decided I had to paint it. Everything about it appealed to my senses. This appeal isn't just visual. There is an emotional component, a kind of internal reaction to what the eyes see. I carry this home with me, trusting I can imbue the painted image with some of that spirit.
